Christ Church began as a church plant in 1973 under the leadership of Rev. Larry Dill.  The first worship experience was held in a specifically designed mobile home attended by one hundred fifty-two people.

The first permanent facility was completed on the property in 1978.  Through the years, a fellowship hall, multiple classrooms, sanctuary, new children and student facilities, and a brand new gymnasium have been completed.

Bordering the Berry Middle and Spain Park High School campuses, the Christ Church campus encompasses 18 acres near the corner of Caldwell Mill Road and Jaguar Drive.

With its mission of Glorifying God, treasuring Jesus Christ, loving others, and making disciples of all peoples, Christ Church seeks to be an active catalyst in God transforming lives locally, in the greater Birmingham-Hoover region, and around the world.

Former pastors of Christ Church include Rev. Larry Dill ('73-'79), Rev. Byron White ('79-'90), Rev. Charles Betts ('90-'94) and Rev. Charles Lee ('94-'01), and Rev. Will Garrett ('01-'07).

In June of 2007, Paul Lawler became the new Christ Church pastor.
